Eat, Shop, Give. #GivingTuesday challenge gives Breast Cancer Fund supporters chance to double their impact

Americans have Thanksgiving for feasting, Black Friday and Cyber Monday for shopping, and now #GivingTuesday for celebrating our country’s great tradition of generosity. #GivingTuesday demonstrates that we can do more with our wallets than just shop, and that we don’t have to be billionaires to give back.

The Breast Cancer Fund has an ambitious goal this #GivingTuesday. We're aiming to reach $15,000 by midnight on Tuesday, December 3rd. And thanks to an anonymous team of longtime supporters to the Breast Cancer Fund and our Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, every dollar donated will be matched. Through the generosity of our community and our #GivingTuesday matching gift opportunity, we have the potential to raise up to $30,000 today to help stop breast cancer before is starts.

The Giving Tuesday movement, started by the United Nations Foundation and the 92nd Street Y, joins together more than 8,300 partners during Giving Tuesday's second year, including about 2,500 charities.

A broad mix of organizations and people are promoting the day, from the the White House to Muhammed Ali. Google+ Hangouts is hosting an all-day “Hangout-a-thon” that aims to introduce people interested in giving to different nonprofits and causes that might pique their interests.
